Typing www.arunachaltimes.com in my broswer doesn't really take me anywhere though a whois on the domain reveals that the name is in fact registered by the publishing house. It was a pleasant surprise to see the name was registered way back in April 2003, but unfortunately the website arunachaltimes.com lay there without a face. Since then, Internet has grown from 700 million to 1.3 billion users worldwide.

The administrative contact for the arunachal times website is at aruntime1 (at) rediffmail dot com. I doubt if the mailbox is really in use but you could try, you might even trigger an alarm for a wakeup call to the administrators at the the news house.
I have already written about this earlier in a post about Arunachal Pradesh - Changing Times, but that doesn't seem to have been able draw the crowd and produce a much needed noise on this matter. I refuse to believe the editors and the reporters at the newspaper publishing house are oblivious to power of news in internet, when BSNL has made broadband easily available in the state capital, Itanagar. According to sources, BSNL has plans to extend this facility to other major towns in Arunachal Pradesh.
That's it - Another try on my part, because staying away from home, I really miss local news from Arunachal Pradesh. I want to see a functional Arunachal Times website. Do I sound too repetive? That's exactly the point I wanted to stress here. Arunachal Diary carried a story on similar lines a long time back. See the link online version of arunachal times.
Update: The Arunachal Times is live now, but someone else at another arunachal website ...

The most plausible reason for not having web presence by The Arunachal Times may be because they are unaware of the power of the net or is it because their content is not upto the mark to put up on the web (with the appointments, thanks giving note etc making it to the front page) or is it that they don't have the expertise to host and maintain a website? But then, I guess there would be so many agencies who would be more than willing to design and maintain their site albeit with a fee.
Now, it is only hoped that the publishing houses at Itanagar would take advantage of the broadband services offered by BSNL and come up with their online versions soon. Hope The Arunachal Times, Arunachal Front and Echo of Arunachal are listening.
I am already late. Arunachal Times is now online and coming up nice and fast.
